Here are your Coat Rack Mounting Instructions.
Mounting your new coat rack is easy. I'll help you with the process-just read on. There are a few different sections, each one covering a different kind of installation whether it be on brick, plaster, drywall, or wood.
Mounting to Masonry (brick, concrete, etc.) 1st - You'll want to hold the coat rack up against the wall so it's level and where you want it (helps to have a 2nd set of hands for this step). 2nd - There are 4 mounting holes. Take a pen or Sharpie and mark those holes well (there will be 4 marks on the wall when you pull the rack away). 3rd - You've gone to the hardware store at this point and found some masonry anchors (there are lots of these-ask someone who works there if you don't know anything about them). Each type of anchor will tell you the size of drill bit (this is a MASONRY BIT-not a regular drill bit) you need to use and how deep to go. A hammer drill works best for this but a regular drill will do as well. 4th - Drill the holes and put the anchors into those holes. 5th - All you do is hold up the coat rack and place the screws into the anchors - THAT'S IT! You're one-of-a-kind coat rack is ready for use.
Mounting to Plaster 1st - Repeat STEPS 1 AND 2 from above. 2nd - You went to your local hardware store and found some great anchors that work especially well in plaster - ask someone. 3rd - You then drill the holes (based on what the anchors specify). You then place the anchors into the holes. 4th - All you do is hold up the coat rack and place the screws into the anchors - THAT'S IT! - You're done.
Mounting to Drywall 1st - Repeat steps 1 and 2 above like always. 2nd - Drywall is easy to drill with a regular drill bit. You've gotten your specialty hangers from the hardware store (the ones that work the best in drywall-there are about 5 kinds that work well). Drill those holes. 2nd - Put your anchors in the holes. 3rd - All you do is hold up the coat rack and place the screws into the anchors - THAT'S IT! - You're done.
Mounting to Wood (very easy) 1st - Repeat steps 1 and 2 above. 2nd - Pre-drill the holes on your marks. 3rd - Hold up the rack and place the wood screws through the holes (I hope you found some nice decorative screws - I prefer black). 4th - You're done - hang something on your new coat rack.
